Maurice L. Naylon IV, CPA (“Chipp”)
Founder & President
After graduating from the United States Naval Academy, Chipp served nine years as an infantry officer in the Marine Corps. During this time, he conducted combat operations in Afghanistan, partnered training exercises in East Asia, and security cooperation events in South America. Following his service, he combined his military leadership experience, formal education, and investing background to launch an entrepreneurial journey focused on management, marketing, and supporting America's veteran community.
ManagementBackground
Leaving the Marine Corps, Chipp worked as an asset management accountant for a leading commercial real estate firm in Richmond, Virginia. He used this experience to launch his first company, Walutes Capital, a real estate development, asset management, and accounting firm that provides project management and consulting services to clients. In this capacity, he has executed numerous complex real estate projects, providing both the financial analysis to support decisionmakers and on-the-ground management to complete deals.
Merging his real estate project management experience and role as the Commander of VFW Post 6364, Chipp provides pro bono real estate services in support of the veteran membership. This support has included managing: a land sale on behalf of the Post, commercial lease negotiations, and capital improvement plans.
MarketingBackground
Chipp also has extensive experience planning, launching, and supervising marketing strategies across multiple verticals. In support of his real estate firm, he developed and implemented a fully-integrated marketing plan incorporating: website development, search engine marketing (SEM), digital content writing, social media campaigns, participation in industry podcasts, and the publication and promotion of a real estate book complementing the overall marketing strategy. Chipp also owns and operates They Travel and Work, an online business offering strategies to “digital nomads” looking to fund full-time travel via freelance work. In addition to the above media tactics, this business has provided Chipp expertise in: affiliate marketing, blog campaigns, e-mail marketing, influencer collaboration, and on- and off-site search engine optimization (SEO).
To support the veteran community, Chipp provides the following volunteer marketing services for his VFW Post: membership recruiting plan development and implementation, strategic partnership outreach and coordination with other veteran-support organizations, and adoption of a VFW Post 6364 “game node” to promote veteran mental health via community-based online gaming.
